1. It is characterized as a "high-impact" exercise that can place strain on the joints, notably the knees.
2. Squash is not yet a sport played at the Olympics (which begs the question . . . how did badminton get in?)
4. The game came into official existence in April 1907 when the Tennis, Rackets & Fives Association set up a sub committee to set standards for squash.
5. Squash's two best players are from Pakistan.
6. The U.S. game uses a softer ball. This "softball squash" has almost killed out the traditional hard ball game.

7. Squash courts are smaller than raquetball courts, but raquetball courts can be converted into Squash courts.
8. Squash balls are 39.5 mm and 40.5 mm in diameter, and weigh between 23 and 25 grams. (Oh . . . and they don't bounce.)
9. More experienced players use slow balls that are smaller and have less bounce than those used by less experienced players (slower balls tend to die in court corners, rather than standing up to allow easier shots).
10. First to 9 points wins a game. First to win three games wins a set.
So I ask you again . . . what is Squash?
It is a game that I will never be good at (maybe I should take lessons?).
