Ricky's Cafe

This week's restaurant was Ricky's Cafe Mexicano. Willow had heard great things from her co-workers about this restaurant. Apparently, the capital "business people" (all the offices around the capital building) love to go to Ricky's for lunch. The restaurant is just down the street from us, but we have had a hard time getting there because it closes at 5 pm. Saturday was perfect for our first Ricky's visit. Ricky's is a sit down Mexican place, but it has a drive-thru. We chose the drive-thru, but looking back we should have gone in. I'm sure there would have been free chips and salsa. Willow chose the "Rita Salad," which was a fancy tostada. The best part of the salad was the fresh grilled vegetables and meat (I know this because I stole some from her plate). It had steak, chicken and shrimp. It came with guacamole and sour cream and the normal tostada items. Willow loved it! I on the other hand did not get anything. Why you ask? Well . . . the Rita Salad was $10. I thought that everything looked too expensive on the drive-thru menu. I purchased a $1.50 Churro instead. It was okay. I'm glad Willow loved her salad. Overall, I give Ricky's Cafe Mexicano 3 out of 5 stars.

We saw several other restaurants we want to try. Personally, I'm looking forward to the Thai place. However, Willow has made a poll question above which will help us decide where to go. I hope the "Elephant Cafe" which is getting rave reviews (not to mention $10 is the most expensive plate they offer), wins. Stay tuned . . .
