Law School Approach to Car Repairs

I think law school is starting to effect other aspects of my life. If nothing else law school teaches you that to every rule there is an exception - or in other words IT IS NEVER AS EASY AS IT APPEARS. I had been driving Willow back and forth from work while I had no classes. If you remember Willow's car was iced in at work, and I didn't want her to drive on the roads (her car doesn't have ABS breaks). During that 3 day "vacation" my car has been wonderful. It started each time and was able to defrost the ice (with a little help from my plastic scrapper) each morning. So . . . when it came time to pick up Willow's car there was no need to think differently. However, it would not start. My first thought was to see if the battery had acid build up, and if so I was going to clean it off. I ran back into our apartment (my car was parked in the general parking area because our parking lot was too icy) and grabbed our kitchen sponge. After a brief cleaning it started right up. At Willow's work I turned off my car, and started to warm her car up to defrost it. Once this was done I got back into my car. It would not start. I tried the sponge but it did not work. I figured the battery was dead. I drove to Walmart and purchased a battery and some needed tools. To make a long story short . . . I spent 3 hours trying to remove the battery; I lost a tool in the snow because I threw it out of anger; I swore I would junk the car once it started up again; Contemplated calling the police to get help; Removed several unknown parts of the motor; broke a hole in the old battery . . . the list goes on and on. I was convinced there was a problem with my car that I could not get fixed and that I should call a tow truck to come and get it. Willow suggested that we jump it and drive it home. That sounded too easy. I put it all together, and tried one more time to start the car. It started. It started this morning as well.
