Run for Your Life

Andrew and I went running today. We've been trying to get back into a regular running schedule for a while. Somehow it never sticks. Today is the day! Today we are going to run and tomorrow we will run and the day after that we will run again. Yes, I am going to look good and feel good. That's the plan at least. They say pain is beauty and don't I know it! Now if only the pain would go away and make room for the beauty part...

Oh, the picture is from March when we ran a 10k for cancer research. We ran the race as the first part of our long run that day. We were preparing for a marathon in June and had to go 14 miles that day, so we ran at a leisurely pace for the 10k and just kept running after the finishing line. Now I'm hurting after just 3 miles!

I'm proud of you guys! I am struggling to get back on my walking program. By this time I wanted to be able to run a mile without stopping. (how pathetic) Now I've been so bad and gained a little weight and am having a struggle walking 3 miles at my usual pace. I am committed now, though. I even did my walk in the rain the last 2 days. Keep it up. We'll all reach our goals if we just get off the couch and do it consistently, one day at a time.
